| Home Office, UK has announced
the changed HSMP (Highly Skilled Migrant Programme) scheme which will
replace the old HSMP scheme with effect from 05 December 2006. Old
HSMP scheme is suspended for 4 weeks from 8 November 2006 and no fresh
applications under HSMP are accepted till 05 December 2006.
HSMP or Highly Skilled Migrant Programme leads you to permanent
settlement in the UK under UK Immigration Laws. HSMP is a two stage
process in which you have to first submit an initial HSMP application
and score the points for Age (Maximum 20), Education (Maximum 50)
and Earnings (Maximum 45). You can also claim 5 Bonus points for
Work Experience if you have studied in the UK for more than 1 year
in a higher education institute i.e. college or university or you
have claimed points for Earnings for your UK earnings during past
12 months.
As per the new scheme the knowledge of English language is an important
criteria and you need to demonstrate your knowledge of English by
way of a valid IELTS score of 6.0 bands. Alternatively, if your
education for Bachelor’s Degree was through English as Medium
of Instruction, you do not need to take IELTS.
You will need to submit all the original documents as supporting
documents with initial HSMP application and irrespective of whether
you are in the UK or in your home country, initial HSMP application
has to be submitted to HSMP Team, Home Office, UK.
HSMP Services Limited is registered with OISC and we specialise
in HSMP Applications. HSMP Services Limited can act as your legal
representative for your initial HSMP application.
If you are interested in immigration to the UK based on your own
skills and earnings, we would suggest that you should try the online
self-assessment. We have created an online HSMP Points Calculator
where you can undertake self-assessment of your case and find out
if you would qualify under New HSMP Scheme. It is likely that you
may qualify now, while you may not have qualified under the old
HSMP scheme.
Once you use the HSMP Points Calculator and make sure that you
are in a position to score the required 75 points you can contact
us to initiate the HSMP application process. Please note that this
calculator is developed to calculate your points based on the latest
changes announced by the Home Office to the HSMP Programme on November
7, 2006.
