I am in the UK under Work Permit? Can I apply under Tier 1 General within the UK?
If you are in the UK under Work Permit or Tier 2 General and score required Points under Tier 1 General for Highly Skilled, you can apply for switching / Leave To Remain in the UK as Tier 1 General Migrant within the UK. I am a full-time student in the UK. Can I apply under Tier 1 General within the UK?
You may be able to switch to Tier 1 General if you are a full-time student in the UK, however as per the current Tier 1 General Scheme for the Highly Skilled, you will need to demonstrate that you can score points for earnings based on the earnings for previous 12 months. Therefore, if you have been a full-time student during the immediate previous 12 months and were working only part-time, you may find it difficult to qualify under Tier 1 General. If you have come to the UK only recently as a full-time student, you may be able to qualify based on your previous earnings in your home country. We would like to suggest that you should contact us for an appointment so that we can assess your documents and confirm your eligibility.

You may not be able to switch to Tier 1 General if you are a dependant in the UK

I am outside the UK. Can I apply under Tier 1 General for UK?
Yes, you can apply for Entry Clearance under Tier 1 General to come to the UK as a Tier 1 General Migrant. The only difference as compared to HSMP scheme earlier is that you will need to submit the Tier 1 General Application at the British High Commission or British Embassy in the country where you are living and the fees you pay are different as compared to Tier 1 General applications within the UK.

Can you help me in filing Tier 1 General Application if I am applying from outside the UK?
We have helped many clients from outside the UK and we can help you in preparation of the application form and appropriate appendix. We can also help you by assessing your documents to make sure that your supporting documents are as per the requirements of Points Based System. However, you will need to submit the application yourself as you will also need to provide biometric data at the time of application.

What is the major difference between HSMP scheme and Tier 1 General for Highly Skilled?
HSMP was a two stage process and Tier 1 General is a single stage process. Under old HSMP scheme, initial application was always submitted to the Home Office in the UK and on approval you were required to submit an Entry Clearance application at British High Commission in your home country. Under the Tier 1 General Scheme you are now required to submit the Tier 1 General application along with your passport and supporting documents to British High Commission

Do you provide same day premium services for Tier 1 General UK applications?
We provide same day fast-track services for Tier 1 General Initial and Extension applications which are submitted within the UK. Same Day Premium service is not available for Tier 1 General applications submitted outside the UK and processing time outside the UK depends upon the country of your application.

| What is Tier 1 General? |
|
Tier 1 is part of Points Based System for UK Immigration. Tier 1 General has different schemes like Tier 1 General for Highly Skilled, Tier 1 Entrepreneurs, Tier 1 Investors and Tier 1 Post Study Work. Tier 1 allows any individual to apply for Leave To Remain or Leave To Enter i.e. Entry Clearance if he/she can score required points under PBS, UK. Tier 1 General, Tier 1 Investors and Tier 1 Entrepreneurs leads to Indefinite Leave To Remain after 5 years continuous stay in the UK.
