Home Office announced New Points Based System for the UK Immigration and the Tier 1 Visas have gone live in the UK from 29 February 2008.
New Points Based System has five main Tiers or Levels of Visas and these are designed to allow those who
meet the strict conditions as laid down by the UK Home Office.
Tier 1 is the highest level of UK Visa available to Highly Skilled Individuals and High Networth Individuals who wish to come to the UK without any third party sponsorship on their own capabilities. Tier 1 Visa Scheme has following different categories under Tier 1:
Tier 1 General for Highly Skilled
Tier 1 Entrepreneurs
Tier 1 Investors
Tier 1 Post-Study Work
Under New Points Based Immigration System of the UK, you can score points for different attributes and if you score the required number of points, you can apply under Tier 1 category. If your application is successful, you can live and work in the UK and even do the business. Tier 1 allows you to work with any employment and you may even take up part time or full time employment or even self employment and contract assignments
